The Settings panel provides tools for users to administer options and features for the Artsystem5 program and database.
IMPORTANT: Use of the Settings panel is primarily recommended for database administrators, and access to certain Settings may be restricted based on Security permissions.
Access
To open the Settings panel, use the main navigation bar at the top of the page, and click on SETTINGS, in the upper right corner. Choose an option from the popup menu to load that pane.
Making Changes
Settings are adjusted using a variety of options and fields, including checkboxes, grids, and dropdown menus. Some Settings require additional configuration in order to be fully enabled.
Most Settings are global, affecting ALL users and stored in the data, but some are local, and stored in the browser cookie. Localized Settings that are stored in the cookie are user-preference type Settings, present only when logged in to the database with that browser. These local Settings will reset to default when the cookies are cleared. Within this guide it will be noted if a particular option is local.
IMPORTANT: When changing Settings that will affect all users, it is recommended to confirm that the database administrator is the only user accessing the database while the adjustments are being made.
Applying Changes
After making any updates or changes to the Settings panes, click the Close button at the bottom right corner to apply these changes. A prompt will appear, allowing the following actions:
- Save - applies all changes made, and closes the Settings panel
- Cancel - stops the Close action, and allows the user to continue editing the Settings panel
- Don't Save - closes the Settings panel, and NO changes are made
