Double click on any Work record to open the Detail Pane and add additional information to the Work record. The Work Menu on the top of the Detail Pane will show the different Panes to open for adding more details. Click on any of the selections on the Work Menu to open the different Panes:
- Details: The Details Pane includes the basic artwork details: Artist, Title, Year, Media, Dimensions, Inventory Number, Edition information (for multiples), plus Location and Signature. Also on the Detail Pane are ways to designate the work record: Inactive, NFS (not for sale), Reserved plus the Classification fields: Categories, Type, AltType, Period, Style, Country, plus 6 User-defined fields, Date Modified and Date Added fields.
- Images: The Images Pane is where users may add one 1 Primary and multiple Secondary Images to any Work record. The Images Pane also has a section to keep track of Photography records.
- Documents: The Documents Pane is where users can save important documentation associated with the Work record.
- Notes: The Notes Pane has a large Note field to add Notes associated with the Work.
- Condition: The Conditions Pane includes all condition-related information: Condition, Framing and Packing information.
- Activity: Information on the Activity Pane will display as Transactions are created for this Work. Any manual Location changes will also appear on the Activity Pane.
- Financials: The Works Financial Pane is separated into three areas: Purchase/Consignment financial information such as Source, Purchase/Net Price, etc. , Current Value and Value History section: Retail, Insurance, Appraisal and 3 other User Defined Values, and the Expense Section to keep track of additional expenses: shipping, framing, restoration, photography, etc.
- Provenance: The Provenance Pane allows users to keep track of past and current ownership.
- References: The References Pane links to records in the References module which tracks, Literature, Bibliography, and Exhibitions records.
Works Details Pane
- The Details Pane contains a fair amount of information. The upper section includes the basic artwork details: Artist, Title, Year, Media, Dimensions, Description, Inventory Number, Edition information (for multiples), plus Retail and Location.
- Note there are 3 different Dimension fields: Inches, Cm, and Notes. Enter inches and the cm equivalent will automatically appear. Enter cm and the inch equivalent will automatically appear. Click on the Preferred Measurement: Inch, Cm, or Notes. Be mindful that each of the Inch fields are 3 sections: Whole number, Numerator, and Denominator. Users can set a default Preferred Measurement in Settings but note it can be adjusted as needed on the Details Pane. SEE Works Module Settings.
Use the scroll bar on the right side of screen to scroll down to the next section.
The middle section of the Details Pane contains the Location Detail, Signature, Signature Details, and Categories. Also included are the status designations:
- Inactive: Inactive indicates the work in no longer part of the users collection. Click Inactive when works are returned to consignors, lost, gifted, etc. Works deemed as 'Inactive' have aBlack Status color.
- NFS (Not for Sale): When Inventory is documented but not for sale click NFS. When NFS is checked the Work will have an Orange Status color.
- Reserved: When Inventory is on reserve for a client check the Reserved option. When Reserved is checked the Work will have a Pink Status color.
The next five fields are the Classification fields:
- Type: Work Type is the overall description of work such as Painting, Print, Sculpture, etc. The selections in this list should reflect what is important to the inventory.
- Alt. Type: Alternate Type is the secondary Type field and used for additional methods of classification, such as keeping track of Asset Groups, Designations for donations, etc.
- Period: Period is the description of a certain Period or Era such as Zhou Dynasty, the Baroque Period, and the Harlem Renaissance.
- Style: Style is the definition of a particular art movement such as Contemporary, Modern, Neoclassical, etc.
- Country: The Country field is to note the artwork's country of origin.

The final section of the Detail Pane contains the 6 User Defined fields, Date Added and Date Modified.
The User Defined fields are fields that may be used to keep track of specific information where a field is not provided. The names of these fields depend upon the information users are documenting. User Defined fields are renamed in Settings. SEE Works Module Settings.
